Plate Tectonics: Building Richer Poems through Shifts and Layers with Lauren Camp (via Zoom)

Sometimes a poem you’ve been working on just isn’t getting where you want it to go. You might need a seismic shift, or you might simply need to plant a new seed in what you thought was hardened ground. A poem can often be made deeper and more resonant with time and a few techniques. This two-hour craft class will help you integrate and overlap approaches that will help the poem evolve. Come prepared to work (or really play!) with new ideas and directions. Open to writers at all levels.

Class will be held via Zoom and is limited to 12 students. Zoom link will be sent at the time of registration as well as again the day before class. PLEASE NOTE that class time is EASTERN (NY) time zone.

Lauren Camp is the author of five books, most recently Took House (Tupelo Press). Honors include the Dorset Prize and finalist citations for the Arab American Book Award, Housatonic Book Award, and New Mexico-Arizona Book Award. Her poems have appeared in Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, Witness, Poet Lore, Beloit Poetry Journal and The Los Angeles Review, and her work has been translated into Mandarin, Turkish, Spanish, Serbian and Arabic.
