Art Workshop: Corner Store Community

Charlie’s bodega, a painting by Dominican-born local artist Leonardo Ilianov De La Cruz, is featured in Order / Reorder: Experiments with Collections. His work illustrates that while “home” is characterized by where you are, it is also a product of journeys that mark where you have been, which together shape our vision of self.

Join the artist in a conversation about where we find and feel at home, followed by a hands-on workshop exploring a variety of fine-art materials, including oil pastels, acrylic paints, watercolors, and collage. Participants are encouraged to bring photos, sketches, or stories of safe and nurturing space in their community. Presented in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
