Wellness Workshop: Reflections of the Human Heart

|

We invite elementary-age children and their caregivers to join art therapist Kit Demirdelen for the second in a series of five workshops, targeted to different audiences, that will explore the healing qualities of art and nature.

This in-person workshop will start in the galleries with a close observation and guided discussion of how major artworks in the exhibition Cycles of Nature: Highlights from the Collections of the HRM and Art Bridges express emotion. Then, participants will create their own artwork in Greene Education Center, inspired by what they’ve seen and talked about. Various art materials will be available, from oil pastels to watercolor.

This program will be followed by three on-site workshops on the following dates:

  • Saturday, October 15, 2022, 1–3pm (for adults)
  • Saturday, November 19, 2022, 1–3pm (for middle and high schoolers)
  • Saturday, January 21, 2023, 1–3pm (for families)
