Live Demonstration: “Wax and Fire Works” with Richard Coico

Demonstration: Creating with Encaustic, starting at 1:30 pm

Artist Richard Coico will introduce us to the materials and technique he uses to create with encaustics: bees wax, damar varnish and natural color pigments.

Through the blowtorch fusion process, Richard will demonstrate the application of encaustic medium to a birch panel. We will watch as the artist transforms the molten wax into images and shapes by overlaying wax medium, resins and color pigments.

The event is free and open to all.
