Manga Crash Course

(Entering Grades 4 – 9th)

Participants will all receive expert instruction in this distinct comic style that originated in Japan and has won the hearts of people worldwide. In this weeklong course you will learn the basics of character creation, storytelling, and the conventions unique to this medium. Students will learn the intricacies of working with ink, pen, and brush. All materials provided. 

About Instructor: Richard Ford III is a professional artist based in NYC. Inspired by Japanese anime, manga, and street art, Richard works with various mediums, from digital illustration to traditional paintings, as well as murals. Richard is excited to share his knowledge and techniques with young artists! Richard received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in illustration from Columbia College Chicago.
