Opening Reception: Pooneh Magazehe & Naama Tsabar
KinoSaito is celebrating the launch of two new solo exhibitions
Pooneh Maghazehe:
Half Life
May 6 – June 26
Sculptor Pooneh Maghazehe’s exhibition, Half-life features sculptural assemblages and drypoint prints that are part of her years-long exploration of replication, displacement, and memory. Using unconventional materials, often for their symbolic qualities, she investigates the degree to which objects–a sofa frame, a Diet Coke beach towel, red waterproofing rubber–retain their meanings and associations when reconfigured in new ways or abstracted from their original context.
Naama Tsabar
Melodies of Certain Damage, Opus 5
May 4 – May 22
In this Installation, Tabar reconfigures broken guitar fragments strewn across the gallery floor into a sculptural landscape that, when performed with her collaborators, fills the space with new sonic possibilities. The aftermath of destruction becomes a site for creation, intimacy, and agency.
Performances take place on:
May 14, 1pm & 3pm
May 21, 1pm & 3pm
Performances are free and open to the public. RSVP required
