Freedomland U.S.A., an American history theme park located in the Bronx on the site where Co-op City is now located, opened to great fanfare in June 1960 but operated for only 5 years, declaring bankruptcy and closing in 1964. Learn about the rise and fall of Freedomland with Michael Virgintino, a journalist and marketing/public relations executive raised in the neighborhood immediately outside the park and the author of Freedomland USA: The Definitive History. 

In addition to the lecture, the presentation includes a memorabilia display, a free actual Freedomland token for all attendees and a vintage short film
