Fiesta de Frida

Celebrate the extraordinary and multifaceted Frida Kahlo with us! Known worldwide for her art, legendary style, and larger-than-life spirit, Kahlo loved to gather friends and family around a delicious meal. Some of her favorite recipes were compiled in Frida’s Fiestas: Recipes and Reminiscences of Life with Frida Kahlo, a cookbook organized into monthly menus, by Guadalupe Rivera, Diego Rivera’s daughter, and author Marie-Pierre Cole. Our local partner restaurants, Dos Marias, Picante, Mole Poblano, and La Imperial Mexican Ice Cream, will be offering free samples of tempting April recipes based on the chapter “A Boat Ride in Xochimilco.”

Come dressed inspired by Frida’s iconic style and make it a lunch date as you enjoy the music of her beloved Mexico with DJ Apache. Additional dishes will be available for purchase, along with prizes and a raffle for lunch at a local Mexican restaurant.
