Chef Jeffrey K. Vaden is from White Plains, New York and a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. With a BA from Howard he worked a brief stint for IBM, where he enjoyed a decent job with great benefits but decided to “switch gears” and attend the Culinary Institute of America.
After graduating from the CIA he was accepted into the CIA’s prestigious fellowship program. Jeffrey worked for many fine restaurants in the New York area before launching his own establishment, JK Restaurant & Bar in Peekskill, New York, which gained recognition and excellent reviews including from the New York Times. After running the restaurant for six-plus years, Jeffrey decided to move on.
Hollywood came knocking and Jeffrey landed a position as a contestant on the Food Networks “Next Food Network Star”. Although he did not ultimately win the competition, he had an excellent experience and shortly thereafter launched his catering business, Soul Luxe Caterers. Jeffrey is still primarily a caterer, owner of Soul Luxe Caterers.
