Course Description
Sgraffito is the decorative technique potters use to apply thin layers of slip to the surface of a pot, then scratch and etch to reveal the clay underneath.
In this one day workshop, we will walk through the history and many uses of terra sigillata.
Using prepared tiles, we will learn tips and tricks to applying slips to our work, and bring out our most expressive surfaces as we scratch patterns, textures, and narratives onto our tiles.
