Fiction One-Day Workshop: Secrets of a Novel Writing Hack with Bethany Ball

The secret of novel writing is that every novel writer is at heart a hack. Each novel is invented and reinvented from the ground up. No novel is the same and there is no formula. Please join Bethany Ball for a class on all the novel writing hacks she’s gathered since she= took up the form in earnest eight years ago. Join her in novel writing discussions and writing exercises as well as discussions about the publishing process. Short story writers very much welcome.

Bethany Ball’s debut novel What to Do About the Solomons with Grove Atlantic was published in 2017. Judy Blume called it “funny, sexy, and smart” and it was a New York Times Editors’ Choice. The novel was a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the Jewish Book Council’s debut novel prize, and the “The Bridge” Book Award. Ball has been published in The Common, AmericanLiterary Review, the Detroit MetroTimes and LitHub. Her second novel will be forthcoming from Grove Atlantic 2021.

Tickets for this 2-hour intensive are $100. Please register at
