This 2006 film, based on entrepreneur Chris Gardner‘s nearly one-year struggle being homeless, was directed by Gabriele Muccino and stars Will Smith as a single father caring for his young son. Evicted from their apartment, the two must live in shelters and endure many hardships, but Chris refuses to give in to despair as he struggles to create a better life for himself and his son.
