“Intentional Cinema” Film Series: Lost in Translation
Calling all movie novices, buffs and cinephiles! Here’s an opportunity to join and watch, analyze, and discuss films from various eras and genres, always exploring their themes, technical approaches and cultural significance. This new series, facilitated by local film buffs Norma Austin and Khari Austin-Rawls, will open with the award-winning movies, Lost in Translation. The 2003 romantic comedy drama was written and directed by Sofia Coppola, and stars. Bill Murray as an aging actor who befriends a young college graduate, (Scarlett Johansson,) in a Tokyo hotel. The 102 minute film is Rated R. At the end of the screening, everyone will have a chance to weigh in during the guided Q&A.
