Translating Poetry with Anton Yakovlev

In this workshop, we will compare and contrast a number of examples of poetic translations, analyzing different approaches to this time-honored yet often controversial art form. We will also attempt some of our own translation exercises, even from languages we do not speak, applying our knowledge of the various translation philosophies we will have reviewed.
