Family Tour: Making Hudson Memories

|

Explore “What is Missing” by Maya Lin and Hudson Riverama, the HRM’s environmental teaching gallery, to discover Hudson River species both past and present.

“What is Missing?” is an ongoing interactive digital art project and environmental advocacy movement (http://whatismissing.net). “Map of Memory: Hudson River Timeline,” a multi-channel video projection composed of text and images will narrate habitat changes and population fluctuations of various species in and around the Hudson River throughout history. Visitors will be invited to add and share personal memories of what they have witnessed disappear or be restored in the natural environment, helping to build “What is Missing?” together as a global online resource—what Maya Lin calls her “last memorial.”

“Maya Lin: A River Is a Drawing” is a groundbreaking exhibition that focuses on the environment and ecology of the Hudson River. A series of new works and ambitious site-specific installations invite visitors to interact with their surroundings. #HRMMayaLin #MayaLin
