Photographs by Kenton Gomez at the Harrison Public Library
Harrison Council for the Arts presents “Photographs by Kenton Gomez” at the Harrison Public Library, Halperin Building, 2 Bruce Avenue, Harrison, NY on view April 8 to May 5.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT: I strive to present accurate and rarely viewed scenes depicting the wildlife of North America. My preferred method of still photography hopefully brings the viewer into the lives of the creatures I am passionate about, capturing moments we should all perhaps take the time to experience personally.
My style demands critical sharpness and pleasing backgrounds, honoring the beauty of the animals of North America. I hope my photography inspires people to look a little closer and experience our native wildlife, from the smallest migratory birds with their feats of endurance and daring to the largest mammals and their struggles with life in an overcrowded world. Each has their own story.
Kenton Gomez is a Wildlife Photographer with a focus on the birds and mammals of North America. His photos have been featured by ABC news, The Weather Channel and local news stations as well as various birding resources and websites. His work has been displayed at venues throughout Westchester and Putnam counties. Birds are his primary interest and he has viewed over 600 species in North America. Kenton was born and raised in Bedford NY and currently resides in Putnam County.
The exhibit may be viewed Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30am to 9:00pm; Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 9:30am to 5:30pm and Sundays 1:00 to 5:00pm. For info call the Library 914-835-0324 or see harrisonpl.org.
