Join us as we explore the music of both war and peace. Starting with the 15th-century French secular tune, L’Homme armé (“The Armed Man”), we will hear settings of the rousing and even violent text, Dixit Dominus, by Biber and Anerio, the heart-rending Messe des morts by Charpentier, and the comforting sounds of Arvo Pärt’s Da pacem domine. We will feature instrumental and vocal soloists from students in the Conservatory of Music.
