9/17 – Featured Artist Bonnie Coe – “For the Birds” –
“I photograph birds because they are there. I began watching my own birds in 1995 when I rescued a baby pigeon in the Bronx.” Although this pigeon met with a sad end, Bonnie started closely observing wild birds—peregrine falcons and then eagles. “I got binoculars. I got a spotting scope. I got a point and shoot camera and aimed it through the spotting scope. I got addicted. Then I went totally crazy and got some good camera equipment. So now it’s all “For the Birds”. Learn more about Bonnie and her work at our opening program.
