Outdoor Concert: Wali Ali Band

The final outdoor concert in the 2017 BID Music on the Green series features acclaimed musician Wali Ali and his stellar band of musicians.

Wali Ali lights the rhythm of funk and the cool of jazz with the fire of rock guitar. His five-piece band  combines the music of Miles and Trane with that of Hendrix and Santana, and invites listeners to explore new interpretations of classic rock, folk, blues, and jazz melodies. Wali Ali has played with Taj Mahal, Donny Hathaway, Peter Tosh and Stanley Turrentine. He is the son-in-law of the late Ruby Dee, for whom the park is named and the late Ossie Davis, for whom the library’s theater is named.
