Poetry Clique – a workshop for Teens
Join the Poetry Clique on April 5, 12, & 19
Explore your creativity with published poet, Lisa Shirley, during National Poetry Month. We will study to work with rhyme, rhythm, image and metaphor and learn how to give and receive constructive criticism in a safe space. Each class will include: in class exercises to start new poems, constructive criticism by the leader and the other student to help you improve poems you have already written, and practicing how to perform your poetry.
For the first class bring 2 poems: one you would like to share (by yourself or your favorite poet) and one you have written, but aren’t happy with, for critique.
To sign up please call the Warner Library @ 914-631-7734.
