Katonah Museum Artists’ Association Show at the Schoolhouse Theater
In the early 20th century, beginning with the Dadaists, artists began experimenting with chance in the creation & presentation of their work, and that exploration continues today. Artists, musicians, dancers, writers have used dice, coins, spinners, the I Ching, and even computer programs to tap into randomness. Some well-known users of chance include Lewis Carroll, John Cage, and Marcel Duchamp. Members names were drawn from a hat for this show! See the curated bodies of work from each lucky winner in this unconventional show.
