The Sanctuary Series presents, “Time Traveler” featuring pianist Alice Burla

20 year old Alice Burla, who was called an “extraordinary talent” by the New York Times, is quickly becoming internationally recognized as a serious musician and a very special pianist. Born in Toronto, where her family had emigrated from Ukraine and then Israel, they moved to Westchester where she became one of the youngest students ever accepted to The Juilliard School. Featured on PBS telecasts of “Live from Carnegie Hall” and on WQXR as part of the “From the Top” national radio broadcast, in 2010 she appeared as a young piano prodigy in Oliver Stone’s movie “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.”

A recipient of numerous prizes, Ms. Burla performs internationally in venues including, Carnegie Hall, Salle Cortot (Paris),  ACT City Concert Hall (Japan), and the Auditorio Nacional (Madrid).  Currently, she is appearing throughout Switzerland for the humanitarian aid agency Medair raising funds for Syrian refugees. Here she takes us for a travel through time from the Baroque to Impressionism.
