The Alternate Self: Opening Reception

In his novel Steppenwolf, Herman Hesse went far beyond the notion of being “two-faced” and described the thousand selves that are present within. Each life event, each new person or conversation, each remembered dream brings out a new Self to experience.

The Alternate Self, a fascinating new exhibition at Blue Door Art Center, presents 36 artists working in various media – paintings, prints, photographs, and others – exploring and expressing their thousand selves.

The opening reception will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2-5 pm. This exhibition will be on view until March 11, 2017.
