Doug Varone and Dancers

Celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season, Doug Varone and Dancers has commanded attention around the glove for its expansive vision, versatility, and technical prowess.  From the smallest gesture to full-throttle bursts of movement, Varone’s kinetically thrilling dances mine the complexity of the human spirit.

The program will include the world premiere of In the Shelter of the Fold, co-commissioned by The Performing Arts Center and featuring dancers from the Purchase College Conservatory of Dance.  Also on the program, ReComposed, based on the pastel drawings of American abstract artist Joan Mitchell, set to a rousing score by Michael Gordon.

Doug Varone is a graduate of Purchase College and an honored recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award.
