Sang-Eun Lee, cello, concert
Described as “a prodigiously talented young artist with powerful technique and musical poise” (Washington Post), Sang-Eun Lee is the seventh recipient of Friends of Music Concerts’ Performance Award. She will perform with piano collaborator Chris Jeon in a program that will include works by Manuel de la Falla, Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, and the Catalan composer Gaspar Cassado. A winner of the 2014 Young Concerts Artists International Auditions in New York City, she made her recital debut in Seoul at the age of 13. She currently attends the Curtis Institute, working with Peter Wiley and Carter Brey.
