St. Lawrence String Quartet concert
Originally from Canada and now in residence at Stanford University, the SLSQ has “precision, warmth, and an electricity that conveys the excitement of playing whatever is on their stands at the moment” (New York Times). The ensemble returns to our roster with a program that includes Haydn’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 33, No. 2 (“The Joke”) and Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 44, No. 3. Its members will be joined by pianist Anne-Marie McDermott for Dvorak’s Quintet in A Major for piano and stings.
