Michael Patterson: Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture through the years.
Michael Patterson’s work has been showcased at Oak&Oil for the past two years.
We are now honored to offer a journey through his creative years, with Paintings, Drawings and Sculptures. Michael was born in Hudson, NY into a family of painters. His grandfather, Howard Ashman Patterson, was an established American painter. Patterson’s work focuses on how light and reflected light effects color. The positive and negative shapes work together to create the graphic energy of his compositions, setting the rhythm of the image and influencing where the viewer’s eye travels. Organic shapes juxtapose the geometric shapes, his lines flow throughout, interrupted, yet continuous.
Patterson’s subjects most always includes the human figure wherever it may be, city streets, markets, the beach, alone or in groups, it is the main subject of most of his creation. Recently Patterson has returned to creating sculptures, in stone and clay, both figurative and abstract. Michael’s work is in over 500 private and corporate collections in the United States and Europe. Showing from May 14th to June 5th
