Fashion SHEek: Teens Take the Runway

ArtsWestchester in partnership with Her Honor Mentoring, Operation PROM, and Nordstrom bring you “Fashion SHEek.” In this unique, community-oriented fashion show, mentees from Her Honor Mentoring will model evening fashions provided by Operation PROM.

Operation PROM was originally established to help low-income students attend their Proms by providing free Prom dresses and tuxedo rentals. It has since expanded to include regular donations of clothing and school supplies to students who are sick, homeless or live in shelters and do not have family to assist them.

Her Honor Mentoring is a 501c3 non-profit organization and was developed by Nicole Sheindlin and Judith Sheindlin as an innovative way to boost self confidence in young women from disadvantaged neighborhoods. The program endeavors to reinforce the importance of college education and ultimately a meaningful profession while building a sense of confidence and independence. 51 students from high schools in the Westchester cities of Yonkers, Mt. Vernon, Mamaroneck, and White Plains participate in the program and are paired with mentors from a variety of professional fields including law, the arts, health, business, education, and social services.
