Known internationally for their high level of innovation, sophistication, expert craftsmanship and exceptional level of artistry, Týnek and his company will perform Camera Illuminata, a collection of dances inspired by the paintings of Currin, Degas, Flandrin, Shiele and Caravaggio, set to music by Beethoven, Schubert and other greats. Deriving its name from “camera obscura”, a device used by painters to view a scene projected as an image, Camera Illuminata applies the inverse, projecting dance into the lit space of the theatre to bring art to magnificent life.
