LEGACY: Sculptures by Ivan Biro and Derek Uhlman

LEGACY: Sculptures by Ivan Biro and Derek Uhlman reveals a continuum of master sculptors, who trained a younger generation in molding and casting bronze, and shaping stone, and who in turn apprenticed to learn. Uhlman apprenticed at Silvermine Arts Center with Ivan Biro, and then went on to become a studio assistant for Reuben Nakian, until he received his first independent commission to create a marble sculpture in 1982. Legacy presents the cumulative effects, and resulting nuance of connections of the sculptors’ hands, as they shape materials, working together through generations.
