Chroma Fine Art Gallery is honored to present Edward Giobbi 100: Celebrating the Artist’s Centennial, a special exhibition celebrating the life, work, and enduring legacy of one of America’s most distinguished painters.
Opening on what would have been Giobbi’s 100th birthday, the exhibition features a selection of works spanning the artist’s remarkable career. Born in 1926 to Italian immigrant parents, Giobbi developed a distinctive artistic voice shaped by his studies in both New York and Florence. His paintings reflect a unique blend of American modernism and the rich traditions of Medieval and Renaissance Italian art, brought to life through his luminous Mediterranean palette.
Throughout his career, Giobbi received both a Ford Foundation Grant and a Guggenheim Fellowship. His work is represented in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum, the Hirshhorn Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Tate Gallery in London, and many other major institutions.
