Peace of Heart Choir Returns to Yonkers!

Peace of Heart Choir presents another an amazing program for the Untermyer Performing Arts Council!
Another free program presented by the Untermyer Performing Arts Council and the City of Yonkers!
These dedicated group of singers called Peace of Heart came together shortly after the September 11th tragedies. In line with their aim to promote healing, diversity, community bonding, and mutual understanding through music, they believe the power of music is universal. The main goal of their music, reflecting the ethnic and cultural backgrounds and traditions of their communities, is to leave audiences joyous.
An inclusive group who makes concerted efforts to include individuals from all communities, the Peace of Heart Choir holds auditions twice a year. The choir is self-managed by a dedicated core group of members, including professional singers, musicians, designers, marketers, programmers, and community activists.
Conductor of the Peace of Heart Choir is the renowned Robert Rene Galvan, a man with an impressive career. Not only is he with Peace of Heart, he also is Conductor of the Bronx Concert Singers and Manhattan Sinfonia. He has served as Professor of Conducting at the Long Island Conservatory of Music, Cantiamo Youth Chorus, and Music Director of Highbridge Singers Youth Chorus. He served as Conductor of Springfield Symphony Chorus, of the Austin Philharmonic and directed both the University Chorus and the Longhorn Singers at the University of Texas.
The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing free entertainment and education to the people of Yonkers, Westchester and beyond. These educational and artistic events are admission free and open to the public.
This program, done in cooperation with Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, was made possible by ArtsWestchester with support from Westchester County Government, the City of Yonkers, and Empire City Casino by MGM, Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins, Senator Shelley Mayer, Assemblymember Nader Sayegh and our generous supporters provide additional support for our programs.
