Entry Fee: $45.00 for a minimum of 3 pieces; $4.00 additional for each entry thereafter up to a maximum of 8 pieces. ($65) All pieces must be for sale. The gallery will retain a commission of 30% on all sales.

 

The human figure has been the subject of drawings since time immemorial. It remains one of our most compelling challenges as artists.  Perspective, volume, and light are all critical factors, yet none is more important than the ability to communicate the humanity of our subjects.  Upstream Gallery invites artists working in any medium except photography to submit work focused on the human figure.  All styles ranging from abstract to representational are welcome.

 

The exhibition will be at Upstream Gallery, Hastings on Hudson, NY from July 25th to August 18th, 2024. Artists Reception on Sunday, July 28th, 2-5 pm

 

Eligible Work: Drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture are all eligible for this juried show.  Successful entries will demonstrate clear thematic relationships among two or more pieces. Photography is not eligible for this exhibition; we hold a separate show for photographic work.

 

Specifications: Maximum framed size may not exceed 30 x 40 inches. Accepted pieces must be properly wired or mounted for hanging. 3-D work must be ready for wall-mounting or have a base included. The gallery reserves the right to reject poorly presented pieces.

Friday, July 19th by 5 pm deadline for delivered work if shipping 

Monday, July 22nd 10 a.m. to 2 pm: Local artists deliver artwork to gallery. 

Thursday, July 25th, Opening of exhibition 

Sunday, July 28th, Opening Reception 2-5 pm

Sunday, August 18th, Last day of exhibition 

Monday, August 19th, Local Artists pick up work
