The Picture House Launches Repurposed Education and Multi-Use Space in Bronxville

As The Picture House (TPH)’s Bronxville location approaches its second anniversary, it has announced the opening of a new education and multi-use space called The Studio. The space, which was formerly offices and storage in the Bronxville building, has recently become a hub for diverse community events, including holiday parties, rentals, special movie screenings, and more. In 2024, it will dedicate itself to serving its community with not only rentals and special events, but also with TPH education programs like kids’ classes and holiday camps.

The location is already in full swing: a documentary about Greyston Bakery in Yonkers, Zen Brownie, will be screened at TPH on January 25 with a VIP reception in The Studio that features a panel with special guests Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield (of Ben & Jerry’s) and a VIP reception in The Studio with the duo’s signature ice cream. There are also several one-day classes lined up:  Music Video Production (January 15); Film History in One Day (March 15); and Silent Comedy (April 1).

The Studio’s next phase of renovation depends on grants and fundraising in the coming months. TPH’s additional plans include “gather[ing] support [from the community and local officials] to enhance and outfit the space,” according to the center’s announcement.

Says Executive Director Clayton Bushong: “As we look to the future of TPH, The Studio in Bronxville represents a broader long-term vision for the organization and our role in our community.”
