10 Free & Affordable Outdoor Concert Series in Westchester This Summer
This summer, families and friends in Westchester can gather for free live music performances from a wide range of genres, including pop, R&B, jazz and country at outdoor concerts throughout the county. Guests can be on the lookout for arts and crafts, a Taylor Swift tribute, food trucks, fireworks and more to celebrate the summer months. Here are 10 upcoming outdoor concerts taking place throughout Westchester:
Summer Sounds Concert Series (New Rochelle)
New Rochelle Council on the Arts presents its Summer Sounds Concert Series, a diverse series of outdoor concerts through August 27. The lineup of 20 performances includes musical acts such as female-driven rock with the Ladies of the ‘80s (7/16) and Caribbean rock with Galipote World Music (7/30). The series will also feature several local food trucks, including Ray’s Empanadas, Walter’s Hot Dogs, and Grey’s Donuts. Concerts begin at 7:30pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. (1 Hudson Park Road, New Rochelle)
Rock the Block (White Plains)
The City of White Plains presents brings its free summer concert series, Rock the Block, to downtown White Plains, featuring outdoor dining from local eateries, family-friendly yard games and arts and crafts. Appalachian bluegrass duo The Wildmans (7/16) and American soul singer Ada Dyer (8/20) are set to headline the remaining concerts of the summer. Concerts begin at 5:30pm. (Mamaroneck Avenue between Maple Avenue and East Post Road, White Plains)
Yonkers Waterfront Live (Yonkers)
Yonkers Downtown brings Motown, hip hop and more to Westchester with Yonkers Waterfront Live, a free summer concert series with performances through August 26. Among other genres, special jazz concerts will be curated by Jazzmobile Inc. and will feature award-winning blues rhapsody vocalist Alexis Morrast (7/24) and jazz virtuoso percussionists Winard Harper & Jeli Posse (7/22). Concerts begin at 6:30pm every Friday. (71 Water Grant Street, Yonkers)

Outdoor Jazz Forum Arts Concerts (Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Dobbs Ferry, Tarrytown)
Jazz Forum Arts returns with its outdoor jazz concert series, serving five different Hudson River locations and celebrating renowned and emerging jazz musicians alike. The outdoor concerts are scheduled by weekday, with concerts held at Henry Gourdine Park in Ossining on Mondays, Horan’s Landing Park in Sleepy Hollow on Tuesdays, Waterfront Park in Dobbs Ferry on Wednesdays, Lyndhurst in Tarrytown on Thursdays and Pierson Park in Tarrytown on Fridays. Notable performances include several nights of Brazilian music from Mark Morganelli and the Jazz Forum All-Stars (8/5-26) and a night of afrobeat world music with Sangha Tierra (8/28). Select concerts in Dobbs Ferry and Tarrytown will feature Jitterbugs Jam, a pre-concert kids program beginning at 5:30pm. Concerts begin at 6:30pm.
Peekskill Riverfront Summer Concert Series (Peekskill)
The City of Peekskill provides several genres of live music to the Peekskill Riverfront. Guests are asked to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy pop, folk, country and more. Notable performances include American root musicians Mark Berger & Ride and country group Hillbilly Parade (8/13). Classic rock music lovers may enjoy Half Step, a Grateful Dead tribute band performing on July 23. Concerts begin at 7pm. (Peekskill Riverfront, Hudson Avenue, Peekskill)

Robison Summer Concert Series at Kensico Dam (Valhalla)
Westchester Parks returns with a lineup at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.Through August 29, the Robison Summer Concert Series hosts several tribute bands that will play timeless music from artists such as Frank Sinatra (7/18) and Taylor Swift (7/25). The series will also feature performances from The Great American Soulbook, a band dedicated to reviving decades of Motown and funk music (7/11), and the M80s, an MTV-style ‘80s music tribute band (8/22). Concerts begin at 7pm. (1 Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla)
Hudson River Museum Amphitheater Series (Yonkers)
The Hudson River Museum introduces a blend of dance and music performances with its Summer Amphitheater Series with seating that overlooks both the stage and the Hudson River. Running from July 11 to August 8, the series will feature Latin fusion music with Afro Dominicano (7/11) and Afrofunk dance music with the Gentleman Brawlers (7/25), among other performances. Guests may also attend Skyhunters in Flight on July 18, a special family-friendly falconry event led by master falconer Brian Bradley. Performances begin at 8pm. (511 Warburton Avenue, Yonkers)
Tarrytown Outdoor Concert Series (Tarrytown)
The Tarrytown Recreation Department presents ten nights of free live music at Pierson Park. Guests are invited to pack a blanket and a picnic dinner or enjoy food trucks from local eateries. Concerts will highlight music from the ‘80s and ‘90s, with a special Independence Day holiday performance with headlining rock and roll band Kick-Start Charlie (7/4). Concerts begin at 7pm. (238 West Main Street, Tarrytown)

107.1 The Peak’s Summer Series at Barley Beach House (Rye)
At the coastal Barley Beach House, 107.1 The Peak hosts live music performances on the beach. With its list of shows constantly updating, The Peak is scheduled to host soul musician Lamont Landers with Christine Chanel (6/29), pop couple Franklin Jonas and Harper Grace with Kashus Culpepper (7/9) and indie-rock duo Craig Finn and Kathleen Edwards (7/30). The latter concerts begin at 7pm, with Landers and Chanel performing at 6pm. (95 Dearborn Avenue, Rye)
The Village of Mamaroneck’s Free Summer Concert Series (Mamaroneck)
The Village of Mamaroneck offers free Motown and funk concerts at both Florence Park and Columbus Park through July 25. Guests are asked to bring dancing shoes and a picnic for these hourlong concerts, highlighting performances from funk pop band Seeing Red (7/11), the Russ Davis Band, which specializes in classic rock and Motown (7/18), and “feel good” dance music band The Saints (7/25). Concerts begin at 7 pm.
