Artist Statement
Vivian Bergenthal’s distinctive landscape paintings have been featured in exhibits around the world, where many of her works are part of permanent collections. First place at the Westbeth Gallery in New York and 1995 Art Educator of the Year for New York City high schools are among the many awards she’s received in her career. After more than twenty years of teaching art, Vivian began her retirement with a "painting fellowship" to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2002. Currently, she resides part of the year at her home in Scarsdale, New York, and spends much of the remainder in Utah. She received a BFA from Boston University and an MS in art education from the Pratt Institute in New York City.
