Artist Statement

Susan Stillman's landscape paintings have been widely exhibited.  Her work is inspired by her surroundings in suburban White Plains, as well as by travel to different locales. After trips to England and Wales, she produced a series of paintings that formed the basis for Home Portraits, a business Ms. Stillman began in 1989.  Through Home Portraits, she is commissioned to paint heirloom representations of people's homes.  Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Journal News, Westchester magazine, Country Home magazine, New York Magazine, and various other publications.  Since 1983, Ms. Stillman has been a member of the faculty at Parsons School of Design in New York, and has taught and lectured at RISD, Syracuse University and Marywood College.
