Artist Statement
STEVE PERKINS has been a multimedia artist for the past 20 years, working primarily in the San Francisco and New York City areas. His film and video works have been screened theatrically, broadcast on PBS, and received awards at a number of festivals. His mixed media collages and video installation have shown at museum, gallery, and internet exhibitions. He has taught high school, college, university, and museum art school students of all ages. Most recently he was a graduate advisor at The New School for Technology and Design, and an adjunct professor at Bronx Community College. Steve earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting/Directing (Honors) from the Film Division at Columbia University. His undergraduate studies include an interdisciplinary B.A. in Creative Arts (Honors) from San Jose State University, and an A.A. in Film (Honors) from DeAnza College.
