Artist Statement

Kelli Bickman is a multi-media artist. She grew up on a farm in Minnesota, studied art in Wisconsin and London and moved to the West Village of New York City in 1995.  Kelli currently divides her time between Woodstock, NY and Peekskill, NY and is working on developing a clothing line as well as a pop-up book.   Bickman has designed fine art billboards for Budwesier, had her art work featured on international ad campaigns for Citibank, has been showcased by MTV in their Times Square gallery, and had gallery shows in Europe and the US.  Bickman has won many grants for public art projects including the "Art in Public Spaces" grant in Jacksonville, FL and two ArtsAlive grants from Arts Westchester for large scale community engaged arts projects.   Bickman is the founder and director of Youth Mural Arts, a community engaged art program.  In 2011 she worked in collabration with the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art  on "The Banner Project".  They brought together 9 artists with over 400 youth to create a 1,400 sq foot art installation that covered a parking garage in Peekskill, NY.     CLIENT LIST:     Citibank, The Integral Institute, Budweiser, Woodloch Resort, New York Energy.com, UTNE Reader, Shared Vision Magazine, Information Week, Silicon Alley Reporter, Digital Coast Reporter, NY Spirit Magazine, Turtle Rive Press, Yatra Publications, Conscious Choice Magazine, Harper Collins, St. Martins Books, Darwin Magazine, The Sound of Film (Knitting Factory), CMJ Music Magazine, Minnesota Medical Magazine, Herbal Creations Teas, UW Stout, The Center for Disease Control, City Gourmet, Smith & Butler, The Bean Runner and Wired Magazine (to name a few).     SELECTED AWARDS:   2011 Integral Institute, featured artist   2011 ArtsAlive Grant - Arts Westchester   2010 Peekskill Rotary Grant   2010 ArtsAlive Grant - Arts Westchester   2007 Integral Institute, featured artist   2006 'Very Cool' design, www.webpicks.com   2004 Art in Public Places Grant, Jacksonville, FL   2001 MTV showcased artist, Times Square, NYC     PRIVATE COLLECTIONS:     Tori Amos (singer/songwriter)   Neil Gaiman (NY Times Best-selling author)   Chris Claremont (writer, X-men)   Brentwood Library, Art in Public Places   Wagner University, Biology Dept.   UW Stout Permanent Collection
