Artist Statement

I was raised at upstate New York, in a small town called Moravia.  The concept of visual art excited me at a very young age.  I actually began painting at six years old. What inspired me was the feeling I got when I viewed paintings themselves. My formal education in art began with a great aunt of mine.  She taught some easy steps to create landscapes.  The second step was my high school teacher, Edward Levine.  He always encouraged me and inspired me to continue. Thirdly, I went to college at S.U.N.Y. Purchase.  My biggest inspiration there was my drawing teacher, Kent Flaetor; he loved free style drawing and gave me the feeling of no fear when it came to it.
