Artist Statement

Someone stated that nothing is more abstract than reality. I am involved expressing emotion through color and composition. The attraction toward primitivism is like the attraction towards purity. It is apparent that black and white images have the greatest potential for expressivity and profundity. In today's world the novelty is that the modern artist is working and expressing an inner world; I enjoy expressing the energy, the motion and other inner forces. I find this intent to be an alternate view versus the mechanical means of representing objects via cameras and photo-art. Because I am never satisfied with my intentions I have employed myriad styles and multiple media. In any event I am a painter because I need to paint; this activity gives me a sense of humanity and finally I enjoy, I like the spark of engagement. Diversity enriches our lives.
