Most of my images celebrate the generally unobserved commonplace experiences in the real world, which in the fleeting moments they were taken had special meanings to me. Any of a gamut of strongly felt emotions, humorous or serious, may prompt and compel me to push the button to register an image in my camera. If there is any hesitation, the image is lost forever. Nothing is quite the same, even in the fraction of a second. The strongest image may vanish as you put the viewfinder of the camera to your eye. Therefore, the elements of anticipation and concentration are essential for me.
I have taken Photography workshops with Marc Kaszmarek at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. with Ruth Orkin at the School of Visual Arts and with Jerry Uelsmann at the Anderson Art Center in Snow Mass, Colorado.
