World-Renowned Street Artist Painting Mural in Downtown White Plains

White Plains, NY (June 24, 2024)—Internationally acclaimed street artist Dasic Fernández is painting a new mural in downtown White Plains.

Commissioned by the developer Greystar in collaboration with ArtsWestchester, the 2,840-square-foot mural will decorate a portion their new apartment building at 25 N. Lexington Ave.

“Greystar is delighted to be working with ArtsWestchester, which is bringing world-class public art to adorn the 25 North Lex residential community,” said Gary Kerr, Senior Managing Director of Development at Greystar. “Dasic’s work has been enjoyed in his native Chile, Saudi Arabia, and at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Now it will be on display in downtown White Plains to inspire the community and enliven this rapidly growing area.”

The new mural is on New Street between Bank and North Lexington streets.

“I’m creating a surrealistic mural, where imagination and magical scenes blend with real elements from White Plains and its environment. I want the viewer to feel like they are dreaming, creating a confusion about what is real and what is not,” said Fernández.

ArtsWestchester CEO Kathleen Reckling said that murals transform spaces into places.

“White Plains is becoming a city of creativity, with more public art emerging across the downtown,” said Reckling. “Dasic’s unique style and vision depicting elements from White Plains’ past and future will convert New Street into a unique destination. We certainly look forward to forging more arts and business collaborations in the future.”
