Urban Folk Jazz Legend KJ Denhert & Jazz Project Celebrate the Holidays at Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) with A December 17 Concert

Ossining, NY – On Saturday, December 17, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT), located at 23 Water St. Ossining NY, will close out its 2022 Music in the Box season with a special holiday concert showcasing the sounds of the KJ Denhert Jazz Project. The performance will combine holiday themes and material from Denhert’s latest shows, including new additions from The Beatles, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and KJ originals. Urban folk jazz legend Denhert, named one of Jazz.com’s top female vocalists and four-time Independent Music Award nominee, will be accompanied by Adam Armstrong on acoustic bass, Nicki Denner on keyboard/piano, Mark McIntyre on guitar and Eric Halvorson on drums.

Ossining resident Denhert headlined at the Grand Opening celebrating the launch of WCT’s Black Box Theater in April 2017. WCT Executive Director Alan Lutwin says, “KJ, a magical talent, presented the inaugural concert at the theater’s opening over five years ago. To have her perform regularly at the theater ever since is a true holiday season gift to us and one we are eager to share with our audience.”

Denhert’s return engagement follows multiple appearances at WCT over the years, including her signature annual holiday shows. It is her first musical appearance at the venue since last year’s sold-out holiday performance.

KJ Denhert is an award-winning songwriter, guitarist, vocalist and bandleader. She is a consummate artist with a rich history who channels a wide range of influences to create something completely unique. She performs regularly in New York and around the world and has shared stages with internationally renowned jazz and pop musicians such as GRAMMY Award winners Alicia Keys, Roberta Flack and many more. KJ has a residency at The 55 Bar in New York City’s West Village performing with her all-star band when she is not touring. She has released 10 albums including her latest “Destiny” and is at work on a new album with her Jazz Projects set for 2022-23 release. Learn more about KJ at kjdenhert.com.

This from KJ:

What a year it’s been -It is especially wonderful to have a chance to play my hometown and close out 2022 at Westchester Collaborative Theater as we have for many years now.  I am lucky that there is this wonderful venue to present original music and arrangements. Home for the Holidays is about songs and stories that keep us laughing, crying, and waking up another day.

I look forward to seeing familiar faces from Ossining and many who come from far away too. The chance to play is still exciting and this is my last show of the year. Nicki Denner, Adam Armstrong, Mark McIntyre, and Eric Halvorson are amazing together. We have a sound that I can’t wait to share. We went to the studio last year right after the Home for the Holidays Show. The album is being mixed now- I think I’m going to call the album Time is The Constant. Thank you. Your tickets help support independent music and the theater.

With love and gratitude,

KJ
