Experience the Glorious Joy of Singing

Join Westchester Choral Society on Tuesday, September 10th for its Open House and first rehearsal of the fall season. The evening will include a pizza party. This fall, the chorus will rehearse Vivaldi’s Gloria. The piece, along with a selection of holiday favorites, will be performed with organ accompaniment on Saturday, December 7th at the Rye Presbyterian Church in Rye, N.Y. It promises to be a fun and festive afternoon, and one that you won’t want to miss, whether on stage or in the audience. As it has done since its inaugural season in 1942, the Westchester Choral Society, the longest continuously performing chorus in Westchester County, will welcome those interested in joining the chorus at its first rehearsals. They can choose to audition beforehand or after attending one or two rehearsals. Rehearsals take place from 7:00-9:30 p.m. at the Music Conservatory of Westchester in White Plains. The rehearsals and the concert will be conducted by David Baranowski. For additional information on the chorus and its upcoming concerts, visit www.westchesterchoralsociety.org or Email wcspresident@gmail.com if you would like to audition for the chorus.

About Westchester Choral Society

The award-winning Westchester Choral Society was founded by Sarah Stewart Bowne in 1942 to perform Bach’s B minor Mass with 15 singers. Today we are 55 singers performing works from Baroque to contemporary, presenting three concerts per season as well as Summer Sings and other musical events. Smaller ensembles are available for private and community performances. We welcome singers in all voice ranges to join us at a rehearsal before auditioning. We rehearse Tuesday evenings at the Music Conservatory of Westchester in White Plains (handicapped accessible; free parking available; near public transportation). To arrange a trial membership, contact WCS President Numa Rousseve at 914-285-9026. The Westchester Choral Society is a proud member of Chorus America, the Vocal Area Network, and ArtsWestchester, which honored us in 2000 with its Arts Organization Award.
