ArtsWestchester Receives $50,000 Grant from Wells Fargo to Support Arts-in-Education Program

ArtsWestchester will be able to bring more artists to under-resourced schools.

Westchester, N.Y. (August 16, 2016) – ArtsWestchester recently received a $50,000 grant from Wells Fargo to help bring more arts to under-resourced schools.

Maria Ferreira, Area President at Wells Fargo and ArtsWestchester board member, presented Janet Langsam, CEO of ArtsWestchester with the check earlier this month. According to Langsam, Wells Fargo has been a major supporter for arts-in-education for more than ten years and has increased its funding level to where it is today. With the grant, ArtsWestchester will be able to offer more services in under-resourced schools and bring artists into the classroom to stimulate learning.

“We are grateful to Wells Fargo for their generosity and their belief in providing better accessibility to the arts for students,” said Janet Langsam, CEO of ArtsWestchester. “With our arts-in-education programming, children are inspired to think creatively through the arts and to learn curriculum subjects in new, exciting and innovative ways.”

ArtsWestchester has been a national leader in bringing the arts to education for more than 30 years. By combining arts with math, science and language arts, ArtsWestchester has been able to form partnerships with schools throughout the county that benefit both students and teachers. Initiatives include short-term artist residencies, long-term district-wide programs, after school programs and other educational opportunities for students all across Westchester County.
