Give Us the Vote 2020
a Virtual Exhibition

“Give Us the Vote 2020” is a virtual exhibition inspired by the one hundredth anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment and the victory for women’s suffrage in America. Artworks by 28 artists explore the history of voting rights in America and celebrates the power of the ballot. Each election cycle reveals remaining disenfranchised populations, raises controversy about who should, can and does vote, and instigates investigations into how votes are cast and how they are counted. The artwork in this exhibition is a call to action, not just in 2020, but in 2022, 2024… 2776, and beyond.

“Give Us the Vote 2020” revisits artworks created for our 2017 exhibition of the same title, which was made possible thanks to a major grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, and repositions them alongside new works selected for a digital experience.
