Artist Statement

KAREN ANN SULLIVAN ~ WILDLIFE & NATURE PHOTOGRAPHER Since my childhood, I have had an affinity for animals and natural settings.  When I am surrounded by nature or able to observe wonderful creatures, my soul is happy, relaxed and fulfilled.  I use photography to capture moments from my experiences and share them with others. By bringing my images and information about the subjects to the viewer, I hope to increase appreciation for the innate beauty, strength and wonder that exists in the natural world.  This is a constant source of inspiration for me, especially when sharing the excitement of photography with students through presentations and teaching opportunities. I have photographed a variety of flora and fauna throughout the United States and around the world, with birds being one of my favorite subjects to capture.  My photographic travels have included Alaska’s Katmai Peninsula, Australia, Costa Rica, Rwanda and Patagonia. My images have been exhibited and I have given presentations about my work in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, including participation in a group exhibit at The New York Hall of Science and multiple solo exhibitions at Audubon Centers in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
