Artist Statement

Clay and cement, two media of the earth, and images of woman combine in Brody's work. Multiple figures may combine to form installations or become books. In 2014 she had a one-person show at Ceres Gallery, NYC. She participated in the Affordable Art fair and Fountain Art Fair. Her work was at Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art during Peekskill Open Studios 2014. Brody is in The Farm Project 2014 in Garrison as she has been since its inception nine years ago. She participated in the Peekskill Project 2005 and one of her pieces was part of the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art Benefit Auction. Brody spent two months in Nishijin (Kyoto) Japan as part of an artist exchange.  As a teacher, Brody works in the schools and with community groups as she helps her students explore sculpture with clay, wire, etc.
