A Directory of Affordable Outdoor Events in Westchester
The arts are back in full force and summer is finally upon us. As people search for free outdoor events in Westchester, nearby arts events take the lead. ArtsWestchester has rounded up its annual list of free and affordable outdoor arts events taking place between July 1 and September 30. The 80+ event directory is still growing, but already provides plenty of free and affordable things to do in Westchester. For this list, “free and affordable” is defined as $20 or less. Here are a few series included in the directory:
- Hudson River Museum’s summer amphitheater series, featuring everything from the musical evolution of tango to Afro-Peruvian Ensemble
- ArtsWestchester’s Westchester Roots series, featuring events that highlight the cultural traditions of the County’s diverse populations, including a day of Ecuardorian Culture in Sleepy Hollow.
- New Rochelle Council on the Arts offers a Summer Sounds series with 18 performances from opera and hip-hop to Shakespeare and Colombian folk.
- Jazz Forum Arts’s lineup of 32 concerts take place across several locations, including the grounds of Lyndhurst Mansion and Henry Gourdine Park in Ossining.
- Armonk Outdoor Art Show, a volunteer-run fall arts and crafts festival that displays work by 140 juried artists with net proceeds benefiting North Castle Public Library.
